Rovian Kirishima (霧（きり）島（しま） ロヴィアン Kirishima Rovian) is a character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime and the primary antagonist of the second arc. She is the queen of the Badloon Castle and the leader of the "Rovian Bandits", an organization of ruffians who strike terror into the aliens in the underground sector of the Alien Residential Area.

Rovian closely resembles Romin Kassidy from Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS. She is a young girl with dark purple hair and violet eyes. She dons blue overalls and a white T-Shirt with a stylized yellow "R" drawn on it, black high boots, and an orange witch's hat accessorized by a red band tied with a yellow star-shaped clip, later revealed to be a Chapeau Alien named Camos in disguise. She also sometimes sports a green sleeveless dress with ornamental designs at the hem, and is seen carrying a white acoustic guitar that serves as her Duel Disk. After entering the "Patience Limit Mode" (ガマンが限（げん）界（かい）モード Gaman ga Genkai Mōdo), Rovian's hair and eyes turn bright red.

In the second season, Rovian wears a sailor fuku uniform while attending Alien Middle School #8: a white blouse with a blue collar tied at the neck by a red ribbon, a pleated blue skirt, and orange pants under her skirt with white sneakers. She also sometimes does not wear her hat with this outfit. When Rovian visits UTS to work there, she ties her hair in pigtails with light blue ribbons and wears a lilac dress with a white collar, white heeled sandals, and a star-shaped necklace, while carrying her hat and a pink handbag. Rovian wears a white version of this dress in the fourth ending STAR RUSH. She keeps her hair in this style after temporarily joining UTS, donning their signature orange overalls, white and black boots, and white gloves.

As a preschooler, Rovian wore a sailor school uniform consisting of a lilac dress, a white blouse, a yellow bowtie, white knee-length socks, brown shoes, and a white beret with a black band and a yellow bow. She acquired her signature hat during this time.

Personality

Rovian is very airy and casual, often speaking in poetry and hiding the meaning of her words in her poems. She is generally unfazed by events around her, something that has persisted from a young age. Rovian initially had difficulties expressing herself until she witnessed the poetry of Princess Minstrel, inspiring Rovian to pursue poetry, though her verses are still difficult for some to understand. She believes that Rush Dueling should be free like the wind. Rovian's airy personality belies both a cunning planner, given her ability to steal an MIK Ring and reverse-engineer the Rush Battlers from it, and a fiercely skilled Duelist.

However, when Rovian is sufficiently angered, she enters her "Patience Limit Mode", during which she becomes significantly more focused and furious. She appears to dislike doing so to a degree, claiming it is not befitting of what a Rush Duel should be. Rovian claims a dislike of those with impure motives, though this statement is somewhat hypocritical, as she created the Rush Battlers to harvest Duel Power to power the Space Treasure rather than out of genuine altruism, and also arranged her first Rush Duel with Yuhi and Yuamu Ohdo to benefit the effect of her "Prophecy Phrase of the Colors of the Wind".

Biography

History

Rovian is a wandering minstrel of unknown origins, who suddenly appeared in the Alien Residential Area one day. Her music and poems stole the hearts of the residents, and she quickly climbed up the ranks among the aliens and became their human leader, forming the Rovian Bandits. She also invented the Rush Battlers to bring order to the lawless region. Her motive is apparently to bring the fun back into Rush Dueling, which according to her had become soiled due to people using it as a mean to their own selfish ends. Moved by her motive and charisma, Yuna Goha, the president of Goha Company, decided to join her in her endeavors.

Second arc

The day after Yuna returned from defeating Yudias Velgear, Yudias crawled into Badloon Castle and suddenly transformed into a shirt-like form in front of Rovian, Yuna and the other Rovian Bandits; the Bandits subsequently hung Yudias up with their laundry. When Yuhi and Yuamu Ohdo infiltrated Badloon Castle later that day, Rovian personally confronted them and challenged them to a 2-on-1 Rush Duel after Yuamu voiced her desire to get answers out of Rovian. The Duel's arrangement benefitted Rovian, as she inflicted more damage to the Ohdo twins with "Prophecy Phrase of the Colors of the Wind", and anticipated Yuhi's attempts to destroy her Trap Cards with "Force of Thief". Yuhi and Yuamu's teamwork almost defeated Rovian, but she had picked up on what she believed to be the twins' impure motives of earning a promotion and finding the Space Treasure respectively and entered her Patience Limit Mode. Summoning "Bandijo of the Battle Ballad", Rovian equipped it with "Heavy Arms - Double Nexcalibur" to allow it to attack both Yuhi and Yuamu's ace monsters and defeat them both, allowing Yuna to drain the twins' Duel Power. As Rovian talked about seeing a clock tower beyond the galaxy, and the Venus sisters prepared to throw the twins out of Badloon Castle, the miniaturized ship Valvelgear attempted to charge Rovian; she was rescued by Yuna throwing Fisher Sukai's skyfish at the ship and knocking out one of its thrusters. The Ohdo twins and Valvelgear were then rescued after the Rovian Bandits were attacked with a flashbang. That evening, Menjaburo Omori reported his failure to stop the Ohdo twins from returning and taking the flattened Yudias to Yuna, Rovian arriving and reciting a verse about finding a wonderful world in they dug in the back garden; a message that all they needed to do was find the Space Treasure.

Deck

Rovian uses a Shaman Bandit Deck, comprised of WIND Attribute Psychic Type monsters and themed around manipulating the number of cards in the opponent's hand to generate advantage, such as inflicting effect damage or increasing ATK in conjunction with Equip Spell Cards.
