Limitation Text is the name given to the text sometimes displayed in the bottom-left of a card, which is used in lieu of a Card Number, and details special limitations for when that card may be used.

There are currently four types of text used.

This card cannot be used in a Duel

To date, this has only been used on the Egyptian God cards and for the Match Winners series. It lets the user know that they are only allowed to use the card in casual play if the opponent agrees beforehand. This can correspond to the Japanese phrase, "※公式ヂュエルにわ使用できません" (lit. "Not usable in an official Duel"), therefore it might also be used in some japanese exclusive cards such as "Masahiro the Dark Clown", "Yasushi the Skull Knight" and "Tomohiro the Mountain Warrior".

This card cannot be used in a Deck

This is used on all release Token Monsters. This states that the card in question cannot be used in either the Side Deck, Main Deck or Extra Deck. This corresponds to the Japanese phrase, "※デッキ構築にわ使用できません" (lit. "Not usable in Deck structure").

Not usable in Official Duels

To date, this is only used on "Get Your Game On!". This states that the card in question cannot be used in Official Duels (i.e. Duels in Events Sanctioned by Konami), but can still be used in casual or friendly Duels.

Not an Official Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Card

Before its legal release in Legendary Collection 3: Yugi's World, "The Seal of Orichalcos'" Limitation Text stated the card was not an Official Trading Card Game card, therefore the card itself stated that it was illegal; however, it was specifically made and used at the Duel the Master 2005 Event, hosted by the then-distributors of the TCG, Upper Deck Entertainment.
