WIND (風 Kaze) monsters are often flying monsters, such as the "Harpie Ladies", perhaps one of the most famous WIND monsters among the game as well as in the anime. This Attribute is greatly under-represented, but the most common type associated with it is the Winged Beast-Type, though Insect, Fairy, Dragon, and Psychic are not uncommon. Notable Wind monsters include "Slate Warrior", "Raiza the Storm Monarch", "Raiza the Mega Monarch", "Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms", "Windrose the Elemental Lord", "Stardust Dragon" and the "Armed Dragon" LV series. Wind is usually thought of as the opposite of EARTH, though there is no direct advantage other than in certain video games.

WIND (風 Kaze) is an Attribute in Yu-Gi-Oh!.

The strategy with WIND monsters is difficult to define, and not many players typically run Wind Decks, but a common theme with most involve the removal of the opponent's Spell and Trap Cards, though some are designed to take advantage of an empty back row instead of destroying it, such as "Sonic Shooter" and "Simorgh, Bird of Divinity". Generally speaking, WIND monsters usually involve either player's hands, and they can balance and control a player's Hand Advantage to Field Advantage ratio.  Recently, they also have designed to have swarming capabilities and securing their field presences. Most of them doesn't have much in terms of ATK power, instead, they relies on their synergy to power-up and support each other.

Overview
 +
WIND monsters are commonly thematically associated with avian and airborne beings. The Monster Types typically associated with WIND are Winged Beast and Psychic.

Also there are many cards for the removal and/or destruction of Spell and Trap Cards that make reference to the Natural Phenomena related to the Wind like "Mystical Space Typhoon", "Twister", "Tornado", "Dust Tornado", "Heavy Storm", "Cyclone Boomerang", "Malevolent Catastrophe" etc. along with "Harpie's Feather Duster".
+
Effect-wise, WIND monsters are strongly associated with non-destruction removal, such as bouncing or spinning. They are also strongly associated with effects that remove Spell and Trap cards.

WIND archetypes include: "Harpie", "Mist Valley", "Mecha Phantom Beast", "Dragunity", "Gusto", "Yosenju" and "Spirit Beasts".
+
In some card effects (e.g. "Greatfly") and in certain video games, the WIND Attribute is positioned as the opposite of the EARTH Attribute.
WIND monsters also have their own Structure Deck, Structure Deck 8: Lord of the Storm, and also the Structure Deck: Dragunity Legion which is comprised of WIND monsters from the aforementioned "Dragunity" archetype.

"Majestic Star Dragon" and "Shooting Star Dragon" are currently the two highest attack WIND attribute monsters with 3800 and 3300 ATK respectively.

Supporting Cards
+
Examples
It is very likely that Wind monsters have the least number of supporting cards, compared to the other Attributes (except DIVINE). In terms of Spell and Trap support cards, they come nowhere close to the other Attributes, despite the generally low amount of Attribute-related Spell and Trap cards that exist and the resulting low standards for having a number of these cards devoted to any given Attribute family. But a few of them include: "Flying Kamakiri #1", "Bladefly", "Silpheed", and "Garuda the Wind Spirit". "Rising Air Current" is a Field Spell Card which increases the ATK of Wind monsters by 500, and Mountain is similar in increasing Winged Beast types' ATKs by 200, as well as that of Dragon and Thunder types, which also have a fair number of WIND monsters. "Spiritual Wind Art - Miyabi" is another Wind support that aims to take the theme of returning cards a step further, by instead returning them to the Deck and actually costing the opponent representation on the field.

Trivia
* WIND is not an Attribute in the original manga's Duel Monsters.
 +
* Similar to WIND monsters' association with Spell and Trap removal effects, many Spell and Trap cards with effects involving the destruction of Spell/Trap cards are also thematically related to winds and wind-related natural phenomena, such as "Mystical Space Typhoon", "Twister", "Typhoon", "Tornado", "Dust Tornado", "Heavy Storm", "Cyclone Boomerang", "Malevolent Catastrophe", "Harpie's Feather Duster", "Pendulum Storm", etc.
