Leaves the field

"Reborn Tengu" is an example of a card whose effect activates when it leaves the field.
A card leaves the field when it is returned from the field to the hand, Extra Deck, sent from the field to the Graveyard, or banished. Cards that are used as Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon do not leave the field.
As of September 1st, 2011, when a card is returned from the field to the Main Deck, it is not considered to leave the field.[1]
Card effects may use the term "removed from the field"; this has the same meaning as "leave(s) the field".
