A Turbo Duel (Riding Duel in the Japanese anime) is a type of Dueling performed using "Duel Runner" motorcycles in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's (formerly "D-Wheels"). This type of Duel can be activated without the consent of the opponent. To start a Turbo Duel, at least one player has to activate "Speed World". The other player's "Speed World" card will then be automatically activated.

"Speed World" is a unique Field Spell Card, which prevents the activation of any Spell Cards, apart from "Speed Spell" Spell Cards.

To activate a "Speed Spell" Spell Card, for specific cards, you have to pay one or more "Speed Counters", which accumulate on "Speed World" during each of your Standby Phases, and sometimes you just need to have the "Speed Counters" required for the activation of them. Here is a list of the cost(s) shown so far that are needed to activate specific types of "Speed Spell" Spell Cards:

During each of your Standby Phases, 1 Speed Counter is placed on "Speed World". Also, there are cards which can either decrease or increase the number of Speed Counters on "Speed World". There are even cards that can even prevent either player from accumulating Speed Counters. For each multiple of 1000 battle damage you take, you lose 1 Speed Counter.
