Synchro Material
Formerly: Synchro Material Monster

Synchro Materials (formerly Synchro Material Monsters; Japanese: シンクロざい (formatted as Sシンクロざい exclusively in card text since Duelist Alliance) Shinkuro Sozai) are monsters used for a Synchro Summon, one of which is a Tuner monster. You can also use Synchro Substitute Monsters for Synchro Summoning.

Token Monsters and Trap Monsters (and presumably, Spell Monsters) can be used as Synchro Materials.

Some Synchro Monsters requires their Synchro Materials to have specific properties. If the Synchro Monster requires Synchro Materials of a specific Attribute (like "Hydro Genex"), you can use a monster with multiple Attributes (like "Elemental Mistress Doriado") as a Synchro Material.

Monsters that do not have Levels, such as Xyz Monsters (which have Ranks instead) cannot be used as Synchro Materials.

Synchro Materials are sent to the Graveyard by game mechanics, not destroyed or Tributed and not as the result of an effect.
