Synchro Materials (Japanese: Ｓ（シンクロ）素（そ）材（ざい） Shinkuro Sozai, シンクロ素（そ）材（ざい） in card text before Code of the Duelist), formerly referred to as Synchro Material Monsters, are monsters used for the Synchro Summon of a Synchro Monster. Every Synchro Monster that can be Synchro Summoned lists its required Synchro Materials in the first line of its card text.

When Synchro Summoning a Synchro Monster, the Synchro Materials used must match the material requirement listed on the Synchro Monster, and the sum of their Levels must equal the Level of the Synchro Monster. At least one of the Synchro Materials must be a Tuner monster, even if the listed Synchro Materials do not explicitly mention this requirement (e.g. because it lists multiple specific monsters as materials).
