Beast monsters are often overlooked, but work well with Beast-Warrior-Type monsters. Beast monsters are often weak in comparison to Beast-Warrior-Type monsters. Some of them have the ability to swarm like Hyena, Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest, Rescue Cat, Nimble Momonga and recycle each other(Behemoth the King of All Animals, Mosaic Manticore etc). These skills allow to try out many varieties of summoning monsters and getting the control over the field.

Beast (けもの Kemono) is a Type of Monster Card. It debuted in Vol.1 in the OCG, Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon in the TCG, and Deck Mod Pack: Hyperspeed Rush Road!! in Rush Duel.

Overview[edit]

The Beast Type consists of various wild animals or animalistic monsters. Just like with Insects and Plants, they come in many shapes and forms, ranging from those closely resembling what can be found in real life (such as "Wolf" and "Rescue Cat") to fantastical (such as "Interplanetarypurplythorny Beast" and "King of the Beasts"). Beast monsters are typically EARTH or LIGHT Attribute, although each of the six primary Attributes in the game contain Beast monsters.

Beast monsters come in many different play styles throughout the history of the game, with many Beast-centric archetypes and series focusing on doing different things. However, a number of general Beast support cards generally focus on swarming, with effects that add or Special Summon Beast monsters from other locations, as well as a number of standalone high-Level Beast monsters having the ability to Special Summon themselves through their own effects under specific circumstances. Certain cards also give blanket support toward Beast, Beast-Warrior and Winged Beast as a whole.
