Kyosuke Kiryu is one of the Dark Signers. Not only was he once the leader of Yusei Fudo's gang, but also he resembled the image of a big brother to them, especially to Yusei. However, a certain incident made him transform into a Dark Signer, that incident revolves around the fact that he was believed to be dead.
Kiryu wears the black robe of the Dark Signers accented with blue stripes.
As seen in Episode 32, his Dark Signer birthmark is the Astronaut. Also, it is shown that Kiryu will be dueling Yusei, and that he holds extreme hatred for Yusei, Jack, and Crow for unknown reasons. He was waiting for Yusei who had been accompanied by Crow, and as they both enter the B.A.D area their birthmarks react to one another.
As he reveals to them to be their old and former friend they are both shocked. He doesn't waste time and jumps with his Duel Runner. As he does so, a shadow barrier which suddenly forms separates Crow and Yusei. The barrier began to take the shape of his birthmark the Astronaut. Kiryu then exclaims that he will take down Yusei as their Shadow Turbo Duel is about to begin.
Deck
Kiryu's deck in the past seemed to be an Archfiend Deck. His current deck appears to focus mainly on Fiend-type monsters.
