Due to having a huge concentration of varied archetypes and series, there is no general play style for Fairies as a whole. However, a particular focus early in the game's lifespan includes many interactions with [[Counter Trap Card]]s (primarily through the [[Counter Fairy]] series), a design choice that is still carried over or encouraged in certain themes of the Type, such as "[[The Agent]]" and "[[Parshath]]", as well as some semi-generic support cards. Many of the Fairy archtypes, such as "[[Darklord]]" and "[[Herald]]" also features various disruption effects and an emphasis on reviving other Fairy monsters from the [[Graveyard]] and protecting them from opponent's interruption or removal effects.

Archlord Kristya
"Archlord Kristya", a Fairy monster.

Fairy (てん使 Tenshi, "Angel") is a Type of Monster Card. It debuted in Vol.1 in the OCG, Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon in the TCG, and Deck Mod Pack: Hyperspeed Rush Road!! in Rush Duel.

Overview

Fairy monsters have a wide array of design, but are most often represented by beings such as angels (e.g. "Honest" and "Victorica, Angel of Bravery"), faeries and sprites (e.g. "Vernusylph of the Flourishing Hills" and "Spirit of the Fall Wind"), or popularly-benevolent heavenly/celestial deities (e.g. "Amaterasu" and "Odin, Father of the Aesir"). In some cases, they appear as advanced organic and/or mechanical beings of supernatural and/or extraterrestrial origin, such as "Majestic Mech - Goryu" and "Vylon Stella". They're predominantly LIGHT or DARK, although there are Fairies for all six main Attributes in the game.

Due to having a huge concentration of varied archetypes and series, there is no general play style for Fairies as a whole. However, a particular focus early in the game's lifespan includes many interactions with Counter Trap Cards (primarily through the Counter Fairy series), a design choice that is still carried over or encouraged in certain themes of the Type, such as "The Agent" and "Parshath", as well as some semi-generic support cards. Many of the Fairy archtypes, such as "Darklord" and "Herald" also features various disruption effects and an emphasis on reviving other Fairy monsters from the Graveyard and protecting them from opponent's interruption or removal effects.
