"The Deadly Rebound!", titled "Beckoning Attack!! Pursuing Attack!!" (迫撃!!追撃!! Hakugeki!! Tsuigeki!!) in the Japanese version, is the 240th chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. In its first English printing, it was numbered as the 181st chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist. In the 3-in-1 edition, its number was changed to match the original Japanese printing.

Kaiba taunts Yugi and Jonouchi, as he hopes to face Yugi in the semi-finals to fufill their rivalry and gain an advantage against Dark Marik. Jonouchi, meanwhile, is torn between keeping his promise to Yugi and saving Mai.

Featured Duel: Seto Kaiba vs. Dark Marik vs. Dark Yugi vs. Katsuya Jonouchi[edit]

This Duel is a four-way Battle Royale. A player can defend an adjacent player, but the opponent will not take damage when this occurs. The first two Duelists to lose will face each other in the first match of the semi-finals.

Turn 6: Dark Marik
Dark Marik draws, then Sets a card and Normal Summons "Lord Poison" in Attack Position. (1500/1000) He attacks "Vorse Raider" with "Newdoria." "Newdoria" is destroyed, activating its effect, destroying "Vorse Raider." Dark Marik then activates "Spell of Pain," inflicting the damage he would have taken to Jonouchi instead. (Jonouchi: 3300)

Turn 7: Dark Yugi
Dark Yugi draws. He Tributes "Big Shield Gardna" to Tribute Summon "Archfiend of Gilfer" in Attack Position. (2200/2500) "Archfiend of Gilfer" attacks Kaiba directly, but Kaiba activates his Set Trap Card, "Attack Guidance Armor," switching the attack target to "Lord Poison." Dark Marik activates his Set "Mirror Force" in response to destroy all of Dark Yugi's attacking monsters, but Dark Yugi activates his Set Spell Card, "Remove Trap," destroying "Mirror Force." The attack continues and "Lord Poison" is destroyed.
