"A True Duelist" (しん決闘者デュエリスト Shin no Dyuerisuto) is the 242nd chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. In its first English printing, it was numbered as the 183rd chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist. In the 3-in-1 edition, its number was changed to match the original Japanese printing.

The four-way Duel to determine the Battle City finals match-ups comes to a close. Jonouchi puts his plan into motion.

Featured Duel: Dark Yugi vs. Katsuya Jonouchi vs. Seto Kaiba vs. Dark Marik[edit]

This Duel is a four-way Battle Royal. A player can defend an adjacent player, but the opponent will not take damage when this occurs. The first two Duelists to lose will face each other in the first match of the semi-finals.

Turn 11: Dark Yugi
Dark Yugi Sets a card. Dark Yugi Normal Summons "Kuriboh" in Defense Position (300/200). "Archfiend of Gilfer" is about to attack Dark Marik's "Dark Jeroid", but Jonouchi convinces Dark Yugi to attack him instead. Dark Yugi does so (Jonouchi: 400).

Turn 12: Jonouchi
Jonouchi Sets a card. Jonouchi Normal Summons "The Legendary Fisherman" (1850/1600) in Attack Position. "The Legendary Fisherman" attacks "Blade Knight", but Kaiba activates his Set "Ring of Destruction", destroying "The Legendary Fisherman" and inflicting damage to Jonouchi equal to its ATK. Jonouchi activates his Set "Graverobber", allowing him to use a card from his opponent's Graveyard. He chooses Dark Marik's "Spell of Pain", allowing him to transfer the damage he would take to another player. He transfers the damage to Dark Marik (Dark Marik: 0).

Turn 13: Kaiba
"Blade Knight" attacks Jonouchi directly (Jonouchi: 0).

As two Duelists have been defeated, the Duel automatically ends. As Dark Marik and Jonouchi lost, they will Duel in the first match of the semi-finals, while Dark Yugi and Kaiba will Duel in the second.
