"The Sacrifice!", known as "The Death Sacrifice!" in the Japanese version, is the 129th chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. In its first English printing, it was numbered as the 70th chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist. In the 3-in-1 edition, its number was changed to match the original Japanese printing.

Yugi seemed to have dominated the Duel, but Pegasus turns it into a Shadow Game, putting the normal Yugi in danger, as he takes the lead once more with his "Relinquished".

Featured Duel: Dark Yugi vs. Maximillion J. Pegasus[edit]

Continued from previous chapter...

Pegasus turns the game into a Shadow Game, with Dark Yugi taking over. Pegasus Normal Summons "Dark-Eyes Illusionist" (ATK 0/DEF 0).

Dark Yugi's Turn
Dark Yugi Normal Summons "Curse of Dragon" (ATK 2000), then switches back to the normal Yugi.

Pegasus' Turn
Pegasus Sets a card. Yugi switches to Dark Yugi.

Dark Yugi's Turn
Dark Yugi attacks "Dark-Eyes Illusionist" with "Curse of Dragon", but the special ability of "Dark-Eyes Illusionist" activates, paralyzing "Curse of Dragon" and rendering it unable to attack.

Pegasus' Turn
Pegasus Normal Summons an unnamed monster and activates "Black Illusion Ritual", tributing both of his monsters to Ritual Summon "Relinquished" (ATK 0). "Relinquised" absorbs Yugi's "Curse of Dragon", making its ATK and DEF the ATK and DEF of "Curse of Dragon" (ATK 2000/DEF 1500).

Dark Yugi's Turn
Dark Yugi attacks "Relinquished" with "Dark Magician", but "Relinquished" uses the absorbed "Curse of Dragon" as a shield; "Curse of Dragon" is destroyed instead of "Relinquished", and Yugi takes the resulting battle damage (Yugi LP 400).

Pegasus' Turn
Pegasus activates the effect of "Relinquished", absorbing "Dark Magician" and making its ATK and DEF the ATK and DEF of "Dark Magician" (ATK 2500/DEF 2100). Dark Yugi switches to the normal Yugi.

Yugi's Turn
Yugi Sets a card and Normal Summons "Feral Imp" in Defense Position (DEF 1400).

Pegasus' Turn
Pegasus attacks and destroys "Feral Imp" with "Relinquished". At this point, the normal Yugi passes out.
