"Attack from the Darkness!", titled "Surprise Attack from the Darkness" (闇からの奇襲！！ Yami kara no Kishū!!) in the Japanese version, is the 274th chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. In its first English printing, it was numbered as the 215th chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist. In the 3-in-1 edition, its number was changed to match the original Japanese printing.
After "God Phoenix" returns to the Graveyard, Dark Marik continues his assault by using the Spell Card, "Surprise Attack from the Darkness". Dark Yugi responds by powering up "The God of the Obelisk" to engage against Ra's second attack.

Turn 15: Dark Marik
Dark Marik activates "Surprise Attack from the Darkness" from his hand, allowing him to repeat his Battle Phase during his End Phase and Special Summoning the monsters that attacked from his Graveyard. "The Sun Dragon Ra" is Special Summoned back to the field from the Graveyard in it's Sphere form, forcing Dark Marik to recite the Hieratic Text to maintain control of it. At the same time, he activates "Ra's" third effect, paying all but 1 of his Life Points to increase "Ra's" ATK and DEF by the same amount. ("Ra" 0 → 699/0 → 699) (Dark Marik 700 → 1). Dark Yugi activates his Set "Soul Taker", allowing him to use one of Marik's monsters as a sacrifice during his opponent's turn. He sacrifices "Immortal God Slime", using the Tribute to activate "The God of the Obelisk's" effect, increasing its ATK to infinity and allowing it to attack on Dark Marik's turn. (NOTE: In the manga, Fusion Monsters are treated as being an equal number of Tributes to their number of Fusion Material monsters.) The second effect of "Soul Taker" increases Dark Marik's Life Points by 1000 (Dark Marik 1 → 1001).
