Ryo Bakura's father is an unseen character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. He is often away on archaeological expeditions. Amane Bakura is his deceased daughter, and he also had a deceased wife. He bought the Millennium Ring for Bakura and mailed it to him on one such trip. He runs the Egyptian exhibit at the Domino Museum, and Yami Bakura used this to his advantage to prepare the Shadow RPG.

In Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions, he appears in a flashback when Ryou was four. Unlike the manga and anime, he attempted to buy the Ring from Shadi and was tested. The Ring rejected him and approved Ryou, and Mr. Bakura, along with everyone but Aigami and Sera, was killed by Yami Bakura. Neither Amane nor his wife are mentioned.
