In the manga, Bobasa is a member of an Egyptian cult that protects the Millennium Items. He has the Scales and the Key. Bobasa protects the items by placing them on his abnormally-shaped chest and locking his clothes. He then swallows the Key, and is able to regurgitate it at will.
